The Collective of MEDIA Trained advocates

In development. OWON will become the first central hub for global media platforms to reach out to in order to book powerful and compelling spokespeople on democracy renewal. These will not only be the global experts in the practice but OWON will have a body of ‘alumni’ from previous assemblies who can speak to their own experiences of being in assemblies, what they felt like, how they worked and what impacts and changes they have made in an individual’s life. 

The first stages of this project will be taking place through April, May and June 2025. This will see comms experts collaborating with a selection of participants from a citizens' jury in central England and a national citizens' assembly in Norway, developing not only training but also placing those trained into real media opportunities and providing after care support for those participants. The final product of this will be a package that can be picked up and adapted to citizens' assemblies as they are held anywhere in the world.  This package is expected to be ready for July 2025 and the project is being supported by the European Climate Foundation, Shared Futures and KNOCA.
